PADI Basic Freediver

The PADI Basic Freediver course you’ll is a great first step to developing solid freediving skills. You learn basic freediving principles and focus on practicing breathhold techniques in a pool or confined water site.

Requirements to enroll: Be 12 years old or older – Adequate swimming skills – Be in good physical health*  No prior snorkeling, skin diving, or freediving experience is required.

Content: Independent study using the PADI Freediver eLearning, Confined water session to learn breathhold techniques as well as static and dynamic apnea, plus proper buddy procedures.

Equipment: Mask, snorkel, and fins – Adequate wetsuit or thermal protection is recommended

PADI FREEDIVER

The PADI Freediver course immerses you in the world of freediving, which is about inward power, discipline, and control. It is also a great first step for developing solid freediving skills. This course can be a complete course with the pool component as well as depth component or the depth-only component after your Basic Freediver certification.

Requirements to enroll: Be at least 15 years old – Adequate swimming skills – Be in good physical health*
No prior snorkeling, skin diving, or freediving is required.

Content: Independent study using the PADI Freediver eLearning, Confined water session to learn breathhold techniques as well as static and dynamic apnea, plus proper buddy procedures.
Open water sessions to practice free immersion and constant weight dives, plus proper buddy procedures.

Equipment: Mask, snorkel, and fins – Adequate wetsuit or thermal protection is mandatory

  • In order to participate in PADI courses or programs, all student divers must complete paperwork, such as a brief medical questionnaire that asks about medical conditions that could be a problem while diving.
